Residents' Survey 2002

The North Lanarkshire Residents' Survey was a major survey undertaken by North Lanarkshire Council during 2002. As with the 1999 survey, the main aims of the survey were to:-

  • seek representative information on the broad views of local residents with regard to Council services and issues affecting the local area,
  • ascertain how well the public are informed and consulted about the Council and its services and
  • seek views on how the Council is perceived by the local population.

Survey Process

A series of interviews were carried out by a leading, locally based, independent market research company T L Dempster Strategy and Research, within residents' homes during October and November 2002. In total 2,758 interviews with adult residents were achieved across the whole of North Lanarkshire.

Survey Results

The key findings from the survey concentrate on residents' perceptions of Council services, experience of contacting the Council, including the handling of complaints and how residents view a number of issues affecting local communities.
