Residents' Survey 1999

The main aims of the survey, which was undertaken by North Lanarkshire Council during 1999, were to:-

  • seek representative information on the broad views of local residents with regard to Council services and issues affecting the local area;
  • ascertain how well the public are informed and consulted about the Council and its services; and
  • seek views on how the Council is perceived by the local population.

Survey Process

Interviews were carried out by Market Research Scotland Ltd., at residents' homes between late September and early November 1999. In total 3,473 interviews with adult residents were achieved across the whole of North Lanarkshire.

Survey Results

There are two published bulletins which report the initial and main results of the survey. Reports are also available for the six area committee areas; Airdrie, Bellshill & District; Coatbridge; Motherwell & District; North; Wishaw & District.  Use the "Download or Request by Post" box that the top right hand side of your screen to access all of these reports.

All information obtained from the survey is treated as confidential and in order to preserve this confidentiality, all analysis is presented in summary form only and in compliance with the rules of the Data Protection Act.
