Based within Out of Hours, Merrystone Care Base, you will supervise staff and ensure the provision of an efficient and effective clerical and administrative support. You will have good IT and typing skills and the ability to compile and present statistical returns, maintain both computerised and manual records, attend and minute meetings, type/process letters, memos and reports and deal with telephone enquiries.
Educated to standard grade level, you will have general administrative experience, a working knowledge of Microsoft office packages and be able to work shifts outwith normal office hours. An HNC/SVQ level 3 in Administration or equivalent, previous supervisory experience and knowledge of personnel policies and procedures are desirable.
Work Pattern: Week 1 Monday – Friday Week 2 Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Saturday and Sunday Weekdays – Backshift 2.30pm – 10.00pm Saturday/Sunday - Dayshift 7.45am – 3.15pm

Job Outline:
You will assist the Administration Assistant in the provision of a quality Home Support service. You will require to liase with the Service Co-ordinator, Care Service Manager and Home Support Workers. You will provide administrative support to the Home Support Managers to ensure a good quality of service is provided to both staff and service users of the North Lanarkshire Council Home Care Service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. You will assist in all aspects of recruitment and selection of Home Support Staff.
2. Overview of absence monitoring for Home Support Workers.
3. Provide information to Home Support Workers and Service Users to support delivery of an efficient and effective Home Care Service.
4. Maintenance and management of computerised information systems, i.e. SWIS/Personnel.
5. Compilation of statistical information for the Department, Council and Scottish Executive.
6. Provide advice and information to Home Support Managers / Team Leader and employees on departmental policies and procedures relating to personnel issues.
7. Support the effective running of the Out of Hours Home Care Service.
8. Supervision & training of clerical staff within the section.
9. Induction of new clerical staff.
10. Attendance and minute taking at meetings as required.
11. Manage admin staff rotas.
12. Any other duties appropriate to the grade as required by management.
