You will primarily be based within Airdrie First Stop Shop, however, you may be required to work from any First Stop Shop throughout North Lanarkshire.

You will provide clerical support, including reception duties, typing/data input, distribution of mail, filing and assisting with enquiries from members of the public.

You should have good keyboard skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a flexible approach to work. Experience of administration and dealing with the public, knowledge of Council and Housing services and customer care training are desirable.

This post is temporary until October 2008

You will provide clerical support which will mainly include typing, reception duties and other associated duties from either an Area Office location or from a Central Support Division.

Job Description

Job Outline:

1. Deal with enquiries from the public at reception or by telephone, provide relevant information or forms, or refer to a more appropriate member of staff or Section.

2. Assist in maintaining filing system for house files, repair records, etc.

3. To provide clerical support for Housing and Maintenance Officers, as and when required.

4. Carry out typing duties, either on word processing packages or typewriters, as required.

5. Input data to computer main frame packages, e.g. repairs, as required.

6. Carry out any other duties as determined by the Manager to ensure the provision of a professional service.
