Social Work in North Lanarkshire will promote social welfare and social justice. We will work with people to promote dignity, empowerment and choice. We will demonstrate commitment to the principles of quality and choice, supporting people and their carers to lead normal lives within local communities. We will strive to promote equal opportunities and ensure fair access to social work services. We recognise staff as our greatest asset. We will invest in staff development and training to improve social work services.
We have three key objectives to improve care and support for all service users. These are:
- that more people are supported at home rather than within institutional care;
- that people receive faster access to services; and
- that people receive better quality of services
