Housing and Social Work Services
Housing and Social Work Services are responsible for providing the following:

A range of services which includes managing estates, offering housing and maintaining waiting lists, homelessness services, warden services, tenancy services and the maintenance of the site for gypsy travellers. Housing Services also provide the anti social task force services. These are provided through a network of 12 First Stop Shops and five neighbourhood offices.
North Lanarkshire Council has the largest local authority housing stock in Scotland, owning and managing 38,835 properties of which there are 1,223 sheltered dwellings.
Almost 9 out of 10 local authority tenants surveyed this year stated that they were satisfied with the overall service provided by Housing Service.

We also provide a wide range of social work support to individuals and families through six area teams and two sub offices. The range of services includes children's and families' services, community care services, justice services and advice services. Social work services are also provided at two hospitals in North Lanarkshire.
Approximately 12,300 people receive services either directly provided by the council or arranged through independent sector providers.
Of these, approximately 1,700 people are in care homes and 4,300 people receive a home support service.
The Welfare Rights teams last year helped North Lanarkshire residents receive over £9.2 million in unclaimed benefits.
