Introduction
"We all aspire to live in a society that is healthy, tolerant, safe, fair and inclusive. Social work services have a vital contribution to make to that through:
- supporting the most vulnerable and excluded people;
- protecting those at risk of harm from themselves or others; and
- working with others to close the opportunity gap"

Social work services in North Lanarkshire have three key objectives to improve care and support for all service users. These are:
- that more people are supported at home rather than within institutional care;
- that people receive faster access to services; and
- that people receive better quality of services.
We provide a wide range of support to individuals and families. We have a clear commitment to provide the highest standards of service in all areas of our work and
continually seek to improve these. This booklet explains how you can access our services and the standards you can expect from us.
We provide services to the principle of 'best value', meaning that we provide the best services we are able to in line with the amount of resources we have available. To make sure we are achieving 'best value', we want to know what you think about our services.
