Supporting People Team

Local Authorities were advised to maintain a Supporting People Team. The function to be delivered by the Supporting People Team are:

  • To service the Supporting People strategic structure
  • To commission and co-ordinate the supply mapping and needs analysis
  • To maintain a complete database for the programme, generating reports and other information as required
  • To draft strategic documents and reports for the Core Co-ordination Group, Commissioning and Purchasing Groups and Purchasing Groups and Strategic Planning Group, including making recommendations about future funding and scheme level approvals
  • To deal with all communications issues around the Supporting People programme
  • Monitor and take into account the views of service users and consider with other service providers the extend to which other services should be integrated

Separate sections may have been established within the Supporting People Team with technical competence to deal with systems and with Commissioning and Purchasing.
