Supporting People: IT Implementation Group

Local authorities should ensure that a Systems Section or similar, remains in place from April 2003 to provide necessary IT for Supporting People applications. The Systems Section, or similar, will have the responsibility for 3 key IT applications required for Supporting People. The 3 key applications are:

  • Supporting People finance including payments and charging;
  • Service and contract monitoring; and
  • Performance data gathering and analyses;

The Systems Section also provides:

  • Support to the development of technical systems;
  • Support to system users;
  • Support to monitoring, evaluation and implementation processes;
  • Liaison with software providers/developers; and
  • Support to perform housekeeping of data and data extraction for Supporting People National Directory of Housing Support Services/Scottish Executive management information.
