Supporting People Plan - What Are Our Key Principles?

We have identified some key principles, which we believe should influence the shape and style of housing support service delivery in North Lanarkshire. These are:

Choice

  • We believe that choice should be provided for service users within all elements of service delivery such as design, provider, location and form of service.

Quality

  • We believe that all service users should receive high quality housing support services to meet their identified needs in a way that:
    • should operate on a continuous improvement model.
    • should be monitored in a structured way through integrating Best Value/service review processes and the role of the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care.
    • includes service users in the process of determining quality.

Partnership Working

  • We believe that housing support services should engage in partnership with service users and their carers on the basis that open and trusting working relationships promotes greater understanding and expertise in the delivery of effective services.

Equity and Equal Opportunities

  • We believe that housing support services should be provided in a non-discriminatory manner and promote equality for all groups.
