Supporting People - Social Care

Supporting People is a new government policy to broaden and extend the range of housing support services and streamline the Funding framework. The Supporting People Fund will be run by the Council from April 2003.  Much of the future funding for housing support will be determined by utilising the Transitional Housing Benefit (THB) Scheme, which operates until April 2003. This was specifically introduced to help establish the supply, need and cost of housing support.

Planning for, and successfully implementing Supporting People involves all council services, in particular Housing and Social Work Services. Key Partners include health, support providers, the voluntary sector and service users themselves.
