Glasgow and Clyde Valley Structure Plan

The Glasgow and Clyde Valley Structure Plan is a twenty-year planning and development strategy for Glasgow and the Clyde Valley.  It provides a framework for growth and regeneration based upon care for the environment.  The Glasgow and Clyde Valley area covers East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow City, Inverclyde, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, South Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire.

The overall goal of the Structure Plan is to promote the balanced and sustainable development of the area by:

  • setting the land use framework for sustainable development;
  • encouraging economic, social and environmental regeneration; and
  • maintaining and enhancing the quality of the natural heritage and built environment.

A copy of the Structure Plan is available from Glasgow and Clyde Valley Structure Plan Joint Committee.
