Performance Plan 2005 - 2006

1. Introduction and contents

Welcome to North Lanarkshire Council's Performance Plan for 2005 / 2006.

The performance plan is the implementation plan for the first year of our corporate plan. The corporate plan 2004 / 2008 identifies seven priority themes arrived at in partnership with local agencies and communities:

5. Promoting health, well-being and care
6. Improving housing and the environment
7. Promoting community safety and development
8. Developing the organisation

The performance plan sets out outcomes to be achieved by April 2006 for each aim and action within the corporate plan. Through individual actions we also track our compliance with both recent legislation and more detailed elements of existing legislation as these come into force.

Progress towards outcomes will be monitored during the course of the year and the results will be included in the annual performance report in September 2006.

Departmental Service Improvement Plans and individual strategies, including the North Lanarkshire Community Plan, the Social Inclusion Strategy and the Race Equality Scheme provide more detailed information.
