The Minutes Of The Meeting Held On 12 March 2002 Were Tabled And Unanimously Approved.

A Report, Distributed Prior To The Meeting, Listed The Replies In Excess Of 20, Received As A Result Of An Advert Placed In The Local Press, Indicating The Municipal Bank's Intention To Sponsor Events/Activities Subject To Certain Criteria And Budgetary Constraints. They Were Subdivided Into Different Groupings And The Directors Considered Each Application Received On Its Own Merits. The Successful Applicants Are Listed Below Including The Amount Approved By The Directors-:

After All Applications Were Approved/Rejected Councillor Pentland Expressed His Opinion That The Strategy Adopted This Year Was Not The Way Forward And Proposed That The Strategy For Advertising/ Sponsorship Of The Banks Activities Be Revised And That The Directors Look At Alternative Approaches For Next Years Budget.

Impact Of Interest Rate Change

All Parties Agreed That Since The Latest Interest Rate Change Had Only Taken Place On The 1st May 2002 It Was Too Early To Gauge The Impact On The Level Of Depositor Balances. It Was Also Agreed That The Economic Climate Be Continuously Monitored To Ensure Any Significant Movements Are Acted Upon Immediately.
