Public Access Strategy - Vision, Aims & Objectives - The Vision

The following simple vision statement brings together the aims, objectives and key principles of the study:

To promote, develop and manage quality public access in North Lanarkshire reflecting the needs and aspirations of all parts of the community.

Fundamental to realisation of this vision are:

  • Partnership and communication: implementation of a strategy based on a partnership between public agencies, the voluntary sector, local communities and land managers;
  • Positive and equitable access: the promotion of healthier lifestyles, social inclusion, responsible behaviour, access for all and safe and sustainable forms of local access;

Implementation:  Securing adequate resources and creating efficient mechanisms for the construction, management and maintenance of public access provision.
