Child Protection Committee

North Lanarkshire Child Protection Committee is at the centre of the child protection system across the Authority. It drives the Child Protection Agenda and in the wider context of children in need, it addresses relevant issues. The National Audit and Review of Child Protection, "It's everyone's job to make sure I'm alright", published in November 2002 reinforced the need for better integrated practice and again focuses on multi-agency activity across all aspects of child protection work. The Child Protection Committee is also being further developed in line with framework set out in the Scottish Executive guidance Protecting Children and Young People: Child Protection Committees and Framework for Standards

The Scottish Executive has also produced Protecting Children and Young People: The Charter in consultation with children and young people.
