Item 1. Apologies
Apologises noted as above.
Item 2. Community Safety – Tasking & Co-ordinating – A Model for NL
Gregor McKenzie delivered a presentation outlining the basis of the introduction of the new Community Policing Model and the Public Reassurance strategy at local level by Strathclyde Police.
A brief overview of the National Intelligence Model was provided with a description of the intelligence products that flow from this. One of these is the Strategic Assessment which the Scottish Government has advised Community Safety Partnerships to produce by March 2009.
The proposed structure of the Community Safety Partnership to deliver this was outlined along with the proposal to develop Local Area Teams into local tasking and co-ordinating groups to deliver outcomes identified in local tactical assessments which will be produced using partner information by the partnership analysts.
A question and answer session followed with a suggestion that Gregor McKenzie (Strathclyde Police) and Gerry MacMillan (Strathclyde Fire and Rescue) develop a project plan for submission at the next NLP Board meeting.
Item 3. Minute of the last meeting (5 March 2008)
Agreed as an accurate record.
Item 4. Matters arising
