Lanarkshire is unveiling its latest tool in the campaign to raise the profile of inward investment opportunities throughout the region.
A new web portal www.lanarkshire.com goes live today bringing together, for the first time, a one-stop portal for businesses, residents, and visitors in the area.
The website includes a commercial property search engine highlighting available business premises and land opportunities and also has a free business listings directory. Visitors to the region and local residents can access www.visitlanarkshire.com from the Lanarkshire portal, book hotel accommodation and discover a huge range of activities and attractions for all the family. Lanarkshire.com also has a dedicated communities section encouraging residents to post local events, news and participate in discussion forums.
The portal is part of the Lanarkshire Branding and Communications Project (LBCP) which promotes the region as an attractive location for mobile investment and to secure new jobs for the area.
Louisa Mahon, Lanarkshire Brand Manager said: "The portal has been created to attract inward investors to the area and provides an information gateway for visitors and residents. www.lanarkshire.com tells an updated story about a region where positive changes and opportunities are being made."
She added: "It highlights investment opportunities through the property search engine and has features on business parks and commercial properties. However, as people making investment decisions want to know more about the benefits of locating to the region, we're also promoting the fun and historical aspects of Lanarkshire which many people may not be aware of."
The portal is the latest marketing tool in a suite of materials being produced by the LBCP to reposition itself as a successful and connected region for inward investors.
Lanarkshire is one of the UK's most successful business locations and is forging strong public and private sector partnerships through the Project. Lanarkshire-based organisations such as Coca Cola and Morgan Stanley have pledged support for the campaign along with commercial property organisations such as HF Developments, Eurocentral and CALA Properties who have business interests in the area.
In February, the Lanarkshire Location Pack, which promotes the regions key investment locations and commercial properties, will be launched.
The Project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
