If you're looking for something to keep the kids occupied over the Easter holidays – and away from those chocolate eggs! – then North Lanarkshire Council could have the solution you've been looking for.
The council and the Scottish Football Association (SFA) have teamed up once again to host a series of football camps across North Lanarkshire during the school holidays for all children between the ages of 5 and 11 years.
The football camps are designed to provide participants with the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new friends and have fun during the Easter holidays. All camps are organised by fully qualified SFA coaching staff, with each participant receiving gifts which will include a water bottle and football memorabilia.
The camps will be held at various venues throughout North Lanarkshire over the two weeks including St Andrew's High and St Ambrose High in Coatbridge, Braidhurst High and Dalziel Park in Motherwell, and St Andrew's Primary in Cumbernauld.
Each of the camps will be split into three different sessions, each targeting different age groups in the 5-11 age range. Camps will be available at the following times:
· 10am-12noon (£15)
· 1pm-3pm (£15)
Michael O'Neill, Director of Education, said: "These camps have proved to be a tremendous success across the authority, not only in encouraging participation in physical activities but by promoting fun, learning and skills development in our pupils. And we couldn't do this without the support of the SFA and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their continued support.
"I would encourage as many young people as possible to take advantage of these camps and add a little 'egg-citement' to their holidays this Easter!"
Places for the camps are available on a first come, first served basis. A half-price discount is available for all second places booked and a concession rate is also available for second family siblings.
