Look out for Lanarkshire's Doors Open Day 2008, taking place on the 13th and 14th September 2008 and explore Lanarkshire's wonderfully diverse built heritage.
Doors Open Day Lanarkshire provides the opportunity to visit participating buildings throughout Lanarkshire that are not normally open to the public – it's free of charge too!. As in 2007 North and South Lanarkshire Council's have organised this event in partnership. This year 66 buildings (33 in North Lanarkshire) will participate.
'Doors Open Day' is part of a European wide initiative to celebrate our built heritage. The event is held annually throughout Scotland as part of the European Heritage Days. Last year in Lanarkshire 4,963 visitors attended attractions and buildings during the 2007 Doors Open Day weekend.
The Lanarkshire Doors Open Day Brochure for the 2008 event is available to download or you can request to have a copy sent to your home address. For either option please click the download or request by post link in the top right corner of this page.
