How To Get Here And Where To Stay

Reaching your destination.  Travelling to, from and around North Lanarkshire couldn't be easier, with various modes of transport on offer to help you on your journey.

By road

If you are travelling by car, you can get here from the north by travelling on the A80 through Cumbernauld, from the south travelling on the M74, from Glasgow travel west on the M8 and from the east drive in from Edinburgh along the M8.

By rail

There are train stations in all the major town centres to take you through North Lanarkshire, or further afield to Glasgow and Edinburgh. You can also jump aboard one of the local buses that form part of an extensive bus service.

By Air

There are also three international airports within an hour's drive of North Lanarkshire - Glasgow International Airport, Edinburgh International Airport and Glasgow Prestwick Airport.

A small single-runway airport is situated in Cumbernauld. The main uses of this licensed airfield include recreational or sports flying and training in all types of aircraft.

By Sea

There is a ferry service direct from Zeebrugge in Belgium to Rosyth in Scotland, operated by Superfast Ferries. This offers a convenient link from continental Europe to the area.

If you are looking for something a bit different then look no further than Strathlcyde Park's camping and caravan site which can accommodate up to 100 caravans and 150 tents. This site is open from early April until mid October each year.
