North Lanarkshire Council's 20 wards are encompassed by 5 Scottish parliamentary boundaries. The parliamentary boundaries are different from the Westminster Parliamentary boundaries. The Scottish parliamentary boundaries are based on the previous (1995) wards, and as result, do not fit exactly with the new 2007 wards. This means that some wards are divided between two parliamentary constituencies, whilst others are mainly in one constituency with very small areas overlapping into another.
A map of the ward boundaries and the constituency boundaries can be accessed on the right. The map shows where the ward and constituency boundaries diverge and where (in the case of constituencies) they go outwith North Lanarkshire Council's boundaries.
