SMARTways : Taxis

Taxis are an ideal form of transport for those out with main bus routes, or out of normal bus operation times.

This form of transport offers comfort to the user and a door to door service. Taxis come in a variety of shapes and sizes, be sure to inform the taxi operator of your needs when booking a taxi, particularly for prams, buggies and wheelchairs which will require a bit more storage space for transport.

Generally a standard taxi will be licensed to carry up to 4 passengers, however larger vehicles can be obtained including Hackney Cabs, Mini Buses etc.

If you are a regular taxi user, why not ask your taxi operator if they collect passengers on similar routes to yours at the same time?  Perhaps you could arrange to taxishare some or all of your trips and reduce your costs.
