Payment by Direct Debit
Why spend time in queues waiting to pay your monthly Council Tax bills when you could have it taken care of in five minutes, and be doing something more interesting with the time you save. Simply dial our FREEPHONE telephone number 0800 163491 and an operator can set up your Council Tax Direct Debit over the phone. Alternatively, you can access the Direct Debit mandate form, using the box at the right.
Direct Debit is an effective and easy way to pay your bills – and as it is all done automatically by your bank, you can spend the time doing other things.

How It Works - Setting up your Direct Debit could not be easier. Simply contact FREEPHONE 0800 163491 or your local Council Tax Office who will set up your Direct Debit over the telephone (see contact us box at the right). You will require to have your bank details to hand.
On completing this process a Demand Notice will be issued confirming your Direct Debit has been successfully been set up and the Bank Details your monthly instalment will be deducted from.
Online Bill Payments
Our Online Bill Payments system allows you to pay your Council bills through NorthWeb.
24 Hour Automated Telephone Service and Payment Hotline
You can now make a payment 24 hours a day on our fully automated telephone payments service by phoning our hotline number on 01698 403130, please remember and have your reference number handy when calling. If you are experiencing any difficulty using this service you can also speak to one of our operators during the following hours.
Monday - Friday 8.00am - 6.00pm Saturday 9.00am - 12.00pm

Most credit and debit cards are accepted. We also accept Solo, Visa electron.
Post Office
Payments for current year council tax can be made at selected Post Offices using a plastic swipe card. To order a card contact your local office.
Paypoint
Current year council tax can be paid at various locations throughout North Lanarkshire where you see the sign. They are normally situated in your local shop etc.
Standing Orders
Standing order payments can also be made through your bank account. The payment date for all payments made by standing orders is the 7th of every month. If you require a mandate please call your local office.

Please ensure you include your reference number with your remittance. Please allow five days for your cheque to be processed.
Home Banking
The council is willing to accept payments by home banking, however it should be noted that this is not a preferred method of payment. North Lanarkshire Council cannot be held liable for any late or missed payments. If you use this method of payment please ensure payment is made on or before 21st of each month.
Payments in Person
You can visit any branch of the Municipal Bank to make your Council Tax payment by cheque, postal order, cash, or credit/debit card.
