North Lanarkshire Municipal Bank Ltd was formed during local government reorganisation in 1996.

Although the Bank is an entirely independent limited company governed by the Banking and Companies Acts, it is closely linked to North Lanarkshire Council.

The Bank offers a highly competitive rate of interest.  Customers can be sure of the bank's financial security because the Council guarantees all deposits (Section 49 of the Banking Act, 1997).
