North Lanarkshire Council and the Glasgow Simon Community have developed a new project to assist people who are at risk of sleeping rough.
The project aims to provide, over the coldest months of the year, for people who sleep rough, the opportunity to set out on the road to finding accommodation and a more comfortable way of life.
The project has already assisted over 50 people.
To help the project reach as many people as possible this winter we ask that you take a few minutes to read the message below.
-
Do you know of anyone who is sleeping rough in North Lanarkshire ?
-
Do you know of any places that people are sleeping rough ?
-
Do you have any service users who are at risk of homelessness or sleeping rough ?
-
If so, what can you do about it ?
Firstly you can advise them to contact their local First Stop Shop or local Housing office.
North Lanarkshire Council will provide advice, assistance, support and, if necessary, temporary accommodation to anyone who is or may be at risk of being homeless.
If it is after office hours they can contact our out of hours emergency stand by service on:
Freephone 0800 953 2424 or they can call at their local police station for assistance. The duty officer will contact the stand by officer.
You can also let us know of areas where people sleep rough and we will forward details to our new rough sleeping project, or you can contact the project direct using the "Contact us" box on the right-hand side of the screen.
