  • INCREASE III Deadline extended

The deadline for three strands of the INCREASE III Programme (INCREASE Enterprise, INCREASE Prevention and INCREASE Small) has been extended.

Under this scheme, grants of between £5,000 and £300,000 are available to community waste sector organisations in Scotland to develop local solutions to increase tonnage diversion and waste prevention strategies and projects that will increase the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste in line with the Scottish Government's vision for a Zero Waste Scotland.

The programme has four distinct funding strands depending on what type of investment is sought:

  • INCREASE Enterprise: This strand offers between £5,000 and £300,000 for project proposals such as initiatives which aim to recycle, reuse or compost household, commercial and industrial waste, be innovative and/or commercially viable after start-up.
  • INCREASE Prevention: This strand offers between £5,000 and £300,000 for project proposals that relate to the prevention of waste in the first place and relate to the key objectives set out in the Waste Prevention Action Plan.
  • INCREASE Small: This strand offers up to £5,000 for project proposals that relate to the purchase of plant and machinery, Health & Safety equipment, provision of licenses and permits and training. This funding strand is limited to organisations which have a turnover of less than £100,000.
  • INCREASE Capacity: This strand offers funding for projects that relate to the employment of key staff to enhance management capacity, e.g. backfill of key operational positions freeing up time for organisational or activity development.

Applications for INCREASE Capacity are not yet open. However the extended deadline for INCREASE Enterprise, INCREASE Prevention and INCREASE Small (Full Proposal Plans) is now 4 July 2008.
