Request a Special Uplift

Our cleansing services section offers a special uplifts service to residents of North Lanarkshire.  Each householder is entitled to three free uplifts each year (the year runs from 1st April to 31st March). Any other uplifts in that year will cost £15.00 each. However, if the uplift is for a major DIY refurbishment, it may cost £40.00, subject to an assessment by a Cleansing Supervisor

In general, we will lift any non-hazardous, domestic waste that you may wish removed. You are advised to read through the contents of this page prior to requesting your uplift.

Customer Criteria

The main criteria for the uplift is that you provide us with exact details in terms of your name, address and telephone number or contact details, the type and volume/number of items to be uplifted and the location where the items are to be found. Operatives will only remove the items you specify. The location for collection should be the point, within your property boundary, nearest the access from the collection vehicle.

It must be understood that the service being offered is an uplift service and not a "tidy up" service. The onus is on you, the owner of the items, to present them in a reasonably tidy manner and in a readily accessible spot for uplift.

Collection Procedures

Items should be left at the nearest point of collection on your property for the cleansing vehicle to access. We do not uplift items from inside a garage or other building. Items have to be placed outside for insurance reasons.

Towers/flats - all items for uplift will have to be at ground level unless the tenant is housebound, lives alone and has no-one to help them. This extended service is only available in these special circumstances.
