Kerbside collection schemes
Many households throughout North Lanarkshire have been issued with an additional wheeled bins for recycling purposes.
Blue Bins – Improvements have been recently introduced to the types of material which can be placed into your blue bin for recycling. Please click on the link for further information Kerbside Recycling improvements
Brown Bins – Residents who have received an additional brown bin are asked to place garden waste in to the bin for composting. Grass cuttings, flowers, plants, hedge trimmings, leaves, twigs, small branches and bark can all be placed in the bin. Residents receive a calendar with their collection day and dates. The bins are collected on a 2 weekly cycle. Residents are asked not to place any material into plastic bags or deposit soil in the bins.
Green Bins – Residents who have received an additional green bin are asked to place all their clean glass jars and bottles into the bin for recycling. The green bin is collected on a 4 weekly cycle. Residents are asked to rinse all bottles and jars, remove any lids or caps and not place any plastic bags, ceramics, pyrex glass or light bulbs in the bin.
