Recycling of Plastics

Plastic Recycling in North Lanarkshire

North Lanarkshire Council has recently implemented changes to the kerbside recycling. The changes enable various other materials, including plastic bottles, being placed into your blue bin for recycling.

Residents who do not have access to the kerbside recycling scheme, are still able to recycle more of their waste. All six of the Councils recycling centres, located throughout the authority area, have banks to collect plastic bottles marked with the HDPE or PET recycling symbol.

To ensure your plastic bottles are recycled, we require them to be rinsed, flattened and placed into the banks without their lids.

Examples of the types of Plastic bottles for recycling include: -

Fizzy drinks, Diluting juices, Shampoo's, Washing up liquids, Detergent's, Bleach, Fabric softeners, Milk, Squeeze sauces.
