North Lanarkshire Council are introducing major improvements to the blue bin kerbside recycling service. You will be able to recycle more than 60% of your household waste. This new system means that lots of space will be freed up in your residual waste bin.
The changes will be introduced in TWO phases.
Phase One - Cumbernauld, Kilsyth, Stepps, Moodiesburn and surrounding villages along with Coatbridge, Airdrie and surrounding villages.
Phase Two - Motherwell, Bellshill, Wishaw, Shotts and surrounding villages.
Phase One start date is week commencing June 2nd 2008. This means you should place your blue bin, containing the materials from the list below, at the kerbside for collection, on the day your domestic bin would have been due to be collected.
Presently your blue bin is collected on a 4 weekly cycle and is restricted to paper products only. In your blue bin you will soon be advised to place the following materials;

Your green/grey bin for residual waste and blue bin for recycling material will be collected on alternate weeks. In other words, your blue bin collection day will become the same day as your green/grey bin, but will be collected week about, see table below
