The 2007 festival was attended by almost 3,500 people, 94.5% of whom rated their experience as very satisfactory or satisfactory.
This year's festival runs from 30 September to 11 October inclusive and is supported by The Scottish Arts Council.
The programme has been finalised and amongst authors due to appear are:
- James Kelman, Booker Award winning author;
- Christopher Brookmyre author of "Boiling a Frog" and "Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks";
- Julia Donaldson, author of the beloved "Gruffalo" picture book;
- Caro Ramsay, crime writer;
- Reg McKay, investigative journalist and chronicler of Glasgow crime empires;
- Tom Shields of Tom Shields Diary fame;
- Catherine McPhail & Berlie Doherty, short-listed for this year's Catalyst Award.
