What is the Sports Pass?
The Sports Pass is a card which gives talented sports individuals free use of a wide range of sports and recreational facilities operated by the Department of Community Services throughout North Lanarkshire.
Who is eligible for a Sports Pass?
The scheme is open to sports persons and coaches who fulfill the criterial below:

the applicant must be either a resident of North Lanarkshire or a member of a club from North Lanarkshire

the applicant must be either a current member of a Scottish/Great Britain first squad representing any age group or be a current coach to a First Scottish/Great Britain squad/team subject to verification from the National Governing Body
How do I obtain a Sports Pass?
Obtain a passport size photograph and complete Part A of the application form. To download a copy of the form use the "Download" box that appears on the right-hand side of your screen.
Once you have completed the application form you then have a representative of the National Governing Body complete Part B and send it to the address that is shown in the "Contact Us" box shown on the right-hand side of your screen.
How much will it cost?
Each application will cost £2.00 to cover administration costs only.
What facilities can be used?
The scheme is valid in all sports centres and swimming pools operated by North Lanarkshire Council. Click on Sports Facilities for a full list of centres and activities available. The scheme will give free use of the facilities associated with the applicant's sport, however, other facilities are also included. The scheme gives free use of the following:

the individual's sport facility requirement

weight training/conditioning facilties
-
swimming facilities
-
athletics track
-
health suites (saundas and steam room)
You may also use the pass within South Lanarkshire under their own conditons of use.
Card holders will be allowed full booking privileges. They will be able to book, free of charge, up to one week in advance in the same way as non card holders. Any misuse, however, of these booking privileges will result in the card being confiscated.
How long will the card be valid?
The card will be valid for a period of one year from the date of issue.
What happens if the card is lost or damaged?
Lost cards should be reported immediately to the Department of Community Services. Use the "Contact Us" box that appears on the right-hand side of your screen to inform us.
Damaged cards will not be accepted and will have to be replaced.
In both bases a new application form will have to be completed and the £2.00 administration fee resubmitted.
What happens if I change my address?
If you move outside North Lanarkshire and cease to be a member of a club within the district the card will no longer be valid and must be returned. If your new address is still within North Lanarkshire you should send your card to the Department of Community Services whereupon a new card will be issued free of charge. Use the "Contact Us" box that appears on the right-hand side of your screen for the address to be used when returning your card.
Is there anything I have to agree to?
All applicants are bound to abide by the rules and regulations in force at North Lanarkshire Council sports facilities. In addition, applicants must agree to take part, wherever possible, in appropriate publicity and promotional events on behalf of the Council.
