Includes an adult's Jogscotland 5k event and a 1k fun run for children!
Monklands Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 18th May 2008 at Drumpellier Country Park, Coatbridge, for a 10.30am start line. And this year, the whole family is catered for with both a Jogscotland 5k fun run (for adults) and 1k children's fun run.

For the Jogscotland adult 5k and children's 1k fun run, entries must be submitted in advance; none are accepted on the day. For more information and entry forms, please use the 'Contact us' box on the right hand side of this page.
Enter the half marathon in advance to save money! SAL affiliated member advance entry fee is £10 and £12 for non-affiliated runners. Competitors can enter on the day of the race, however the entry fee for all on the day will be £15.00. Entries on the day for the half marathon will be at the race finish area marquee within Drumpellier Country Park.
Relay team (6 competitors maximum) entry is £20, and must be entered in advance with no entries accepted on the day.
Car parking, c hanging and shower facilities will be located at the Time Capsule in Buchanan Street, Coatbridge. Competitors should note that the race start (10.30am) is located within Drumpellier Country Park, and at least 20 minutes should be allowed to make your way from the Time Capsule to the start area.
There will be a top prize of £100 and an extensive prize list catering for all age categories. The first three male and female athletes will be presented with their prizes at the finish line; all other prizes will be distributed by post. Results will be available during the week following the race.
The Jogscotland 5k fun run for adults costs £5 and entries must be received in advance. And catering for the youngest athletes, there is a 1k children's Fun Run for primary 5 to 7's at a cost of £1. Entries will not be accepted on the day for either the 5k or the 1k runs. Monklands Sports Council wishes to acknowledge the support of the event's principal sponsor - the Bell Group UK - plus additional sponsorship received from the Time Capsule, Coatbridge.
For the information of road users on the day, the route will incorporate stretches of the A89 Glasgow Road, the A752 Gartcosh Road, Townhead Road and Blair Road with a short stretch through the country park. Water stations will be located within the park and also at the roundabout at Drumpellier Lawns housing development.
