Where Do I Find Accessible Buses?

Catching a bus to the Town Centre is a popular means of transport for many people. However, those with disabilities or mobility problems don't always have the option of saying "When's the next bus"? Simply because not all buses are accessible.

The following transport services provide a "best service routing" for their passengers with Disabilities:-

  • Strathclyde Passenger Transport
    • Dial-a-bus
    • Ring 'n' Ride
  • Hutchinson
  • First

Dial-a-bus

Dial A Bus provides a service for people who are unable to use public transport or who have difficulty using everyday buses, the chance to enjoy a wide variety of social and recreational activities. Inside View of Dial-a-Bus With Two Wheelchair Spaces

Ring 'n' Ride

Another service that SPT provides is Ring 'n' Ride. This is a new on demand bus service that picks passengers up from their homes or to as near to their homes as possible and takes them to their required destination.

It is designed to serve people and communities in North Lanarkshire who do not have a local bus service or have poor public transport links to amenities.  This service does not make trips where there is other direct bus services.
