The four day North Lanarkshire Council event is always jam-packed full of family fun, and this year will be no different.
In this year of the Beijing Olympic Games, the Festival celebrates an Oriental theme with exciting floral displays and exhilarating entertainment.
There is a full programme of activities with plant sales, music and entertainment, children's face painting, train rides, countryside events and so much more.
Following the success of last year, the event will be held again in association with L107, Lanarkshire's local radio station. Listeners will be able to win tickets to the event and hear regular news on what's going on throughout . And popular morning presenter, Grant Thomson, will be on hand to provide some weekend entertainment.
Executive Director of Environmental Services, Paul Jukes, is looking forward to the weekend fun. He said: "The flower festival is always popular and I am sure everyone coming along will be impressed with the hard work that has gone into organising the event.
"It has established itself as a fantastic day out for all the family and this year will be no different. Over 10,000 visitors attended last year and I have no doubt that we will attract a huge number of people yet again.
"With excellent displays, the chance to buy quality plants, top entertainment, food and drink, this really is an action-packed event not to be missed."
The primary school 'Mini-garden Competition' is always hotly contested, and the very best of the entries will be on display. School pupils from all over the authority will visit the festival, where they will have a chance to take part in various exciting activities on offer.
Other attractions include land train rides, children's face painting, plant and craft sales, music and live entertainment on the stage.
