Young people entering any North Lanarkshire Library will find a warm, welcoming and friendly service.
Every library has a collection of books to suit every age from babies to teenagers. We can help answer your questions and provide information for school projects or just for fun.
Our libraries provide a stimulating environment with an increasingly wide range of multi-media resources that encourage even the youngest reader to develop reading skills and discover that learning can be fun. In doing this, the library not only supports the formal curriculum but, by promoting learning for pleasure, lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning.
Each library has at least one computer with Internet Access which will help with homework and can help young people to keep in touch with friends and family via e-mail.
In a world of global information, the ability to handle information effectively has never been more vital. The library is much more than a gateway to information sources; it is the key to a lifelong learning process.
Most libraries have story-tapes, comics, magazines, cassettes, compact discs, and computer software available for young people.
We also regularly have special events for children and young people; these include storytimes and competitions. Keep an eye on the local press or local library noticeboard for details of these activities. Regular listings will also be made on our events web site. Click on 'What's On' for further details.
