Venues overview

Venues is part of the Creative Services Section within the Department of Community Services.

Venues manages, operates and programmes the Motherwell Concert Hall and Theatre, the Sir John Wilson Town Hall in Airdrie and the Bellshill Cultural Centre. In addition, the Venues Manager is responsible for the Airdrie Arts Centre and the relationship with the property managers - The Airdrie Arts Guild. The Venues' team act as managers or consultants for external events, including arts and entertainment events at other Council facilities.

The Venues' team operates its service on a continual review and improvement model aiming to adapt services whenever possible to suit the needs of the users and stakeholders.

Venues adopt the standards expected of the service by North Lanarkshire Council and the Department of Community Services and have set themselves local standards, which are measurable and based on our customers needs, expectations and rights. Our research and consultation and our statistical analysis shows that we perform well against these targets.

The Venues' team is committed to delivering a user-focussed service and consults regularly with customers, hirers, partner organisations, stakeholders and staff.

The Venues' team provides services across all age ranges, across all ethnic backgrounds and is diverse and accessible in all of its operations, which are available to everyone and especially those living, working or studying in North Lanarkshire. We listen to our customers and provide as much choice as is practical, based on feedback from our users.

Venues utilise the consultation and research that we undertake to deliver a continuous programme of improvements and innovations. We encourage our staff to take an active role in planning our service delivery.
