Townhead Community Centre was built for the purpose of the community in 1982. It is a spacious, modern, multi-functional centre, which can cater for any occasion. Activities taking place in the centre vary from music classes, martial arts and softball to social functions and bingo. |

Funded by North Lanarkshire Council there is a Community Education run computer suite in Townhead Community Centre.
Any type of well-organised social function or community based activity would be welcomed by Townhead Community Centre and staff.
Facilities
Townhead Community Centre has various facilities to suit different types of activities. For the purpose of a social evening or a larger space for community based activities the main hall is the perfect venue. For an evening meal and dance event the hall can retain a maximum of 155 persons and for a disco can take up to 160 persons. Set to the rear of the hall there is a stage, ideal for musical accompaniment to an evening.
This hall is situated directly off the foyer / lounge area, where guests can sit and relax from the main hall activities in a quieter more intimate area.
If this hall is too large for the purpose of your function then there is a lesser hall available for let. Used mainly for the purpose of the community and recreational activities this hall can be used for the purpose of a social function. For a dinner dance layout the hall can retain a maximum of 50 persons and 100 for a disco event.
Recommended for use by small gatherings or classes there is a dance studio to the rear of the centre. This studio can hold up to 20 persons at any one time.
Kitchen facilities are suitable for re-heating and are ideal for heating through a hot buffet for guests. We regret to inform patrons who would require the use of the kitchen facilities that there is no fridge available.
Transport
Townhead Community Centre is accessible by public transport and a bus stop can be found directly outside the centre. For patrons travelling to the venue by car there are approximately 30 car parking spaces at the centre. There is also access to taxi services in the area.

Disabled access
With all facilities situated on the ground floor this centre is suitable for persons with disabilities or requiring wheel chair access. There are disabled access points to the building and disabled toilets.
