North Lanarkshire Craft Association was formed in May 2000.
Membership of the Association is open to anyone and currently costs £12 per year. There are approximately 40 members at present, representing a wide variety of crafts. Upon applying for membership, a crafter is accepted if their work is of a high standard of craftsmanship and if their craft is not over-represented. The benefits of membership include regular newsletters, a Directory and subsidised tables at Craft Association Fairs and discounted tables at North Lanarkshire Council Fairs.
The Craft Association has run 7 Craft Fairs in the last year in places in and around North Lanarkshire, including Airdrie, Callander, Bathgate, Motherwell, Viewpark, Largs, Strathclyde Country Park. It has also organised regular craft sales in Shawlands Arcade and the Regent Centre, Kirkintilloch.
North Lanarkshire Craft Association is run by an elected Board of Management. This is supported in its work by North Lanarkshire Council, Arts and Venues Section. The Board is always interested in broadening the work of the Association, finding new venues for Craft Fairs and hearing from potential new members.
