Community Arts - Overview

Community Arts is part of the Creative Services Section within the Department of Community Services, offer a wide range of classes, performances and events. Classes cover dance, music, drama, visual arts and crafts, photography, ceramics and creative writing. Community art classes are open for children and adults are held in a number of community venues throughout North Lanarkshire.

In addition, Community Arts work with external companies and artists throughout the year and previous partners include RSNO, Scottish Ballet, Cumbernauld Theatre, Birds of Paradise, Carol Laula, Martin Stephenson, Kultyer Dance Theatre and Scottish Dance Theatre.

Community Arts also administer North Lanarkshire Cultural Grants Scheme, which can support project applications from individual artists, constituted groups/organisations and professional arts organisations that are planning an arts or cultural project that will be of direct benefit to the North Lanarkshire public.  Please use the link for more information on the Cultural Grants Scheme.
