Strathclyde Country Park : Camping and Caravan Site

The Caravan and Camping Park at Strathclyde Country Park has attractions that make it unique in Scotland. It opens from 1 April till mid October each year, or from Easter whichever falls earlier, and can accommodate up to 100 caravans and 50 tents. It has been awarded the Scottish Tourist Board 3-Star (excellent) touring park award and the 3-pennant AA rating.

Facilities

The Park boasts first class toilets and showers, laundry facilities with washing machines, tumble dryers and irons and ironing boards, hygienic food preparation areas and dish-washing facilities with hot and cold water, a small shop supplying basic essentials, and full facilities for our disabled visitors. There is a 24 hour park patrol service, electric hook-up points at all caravan pitches if required, grey waste water disposal drain points at 40 pitches, a play area for small children and ample security lighting throughout the site.

General Site Rules

A full copy of the site rules is available to all visitors on arrival, however for information purposes the following main points should be noted:

14 nights is the 'maximum stay' period and caravans and motorhomes must be touring vans in good condition

pitches must be vacated by 12 noon on day of departure

pets are welcome - but strictly under control (exercise areas adjacent to site)

awnings and toilet tents are permitted

Places to See

Visit Summerlee Heritage Park in nearby Coatbridge, the "Noisiest Museum in the Country", or browse through the exhibits at Motherwell Heritage Centre. Many visitors have found the site at Strathclyde Country Park an ideal base from which to explore throughout central Scotland.

The following are all well worth seeing and within an easy 1-hour car journey from the Park.

Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle, City of Edinburgh, Clyde Coast, Ayrshire "Burns Country", New Lanark, Craignethan Castle, Bothwell Castle, Livingstone National Museum and the City of Glasgow (Transport Museum, Art Gallery, Burrell Collection, etc.)
