North Lanarkshire's gardens and environmental awards 2007

The ever popular Garden Awards are back, not only to showcase the skills of local gardeners, but this year the competition is 'greener' than ever to reflect increasing environmental awareness.

We are calling for entries from the greenfingered of North Lanarkshire as never before - because in addition to the main competition for the Best Kept Garden and Modern Living Garden we've added some new award categories to excite, challenge and perhaps even help save our planet! Read on!

The Biodiversity Award recognises local gardener's efforts to conserve wildlife on their doorstep, whilst the Schools Biodiversity Award is for imaginative school ground eco projects or developments.

Community Environmental Award is aimed at local initiatives, including volunteer, partnership, public or private led projects.

Landscape Development Award recognises excellence within public or commercial premises – it could be civic, industrial, land regeneration, open space or new build projects.

Enter your own garden or project – or perhaps nominate someone else's – complete and return the entry form by the 22 June. Judging takes place during July, and those selected will be invited to an awards evening in September.
