Booking Admission is free. Most items are available for you on demand. Some of our documents, such as census returns and the newspaper collection, are on microfilm. Advance booking of a machine to read them is strongly recommended. Reproductions The Local Studies library is equipped with microfilm and microfiche readers. A4 photocopies made from these are 30p per sheet. A4 scans from the PC are 60p per sheet. A4 copies from the photocopier are charged at 10p per sheet; A3 copies 15p per sheet. Help With Your Research We offer to undertake written enquiries on behalf of researchers unable to visit the history room. The first half-hour of staff time is free of charge; thereafter an hourly rate of £12.75 is levied. Refreshments There are a number of outlets within a short walking distance that can provide refreshments for readers. Disabled access Disabled access via ramp to main entrance. There is no disabled access to the upper floor, however we have a laptop available uploaded with the latest local studies information, for users who are not able to access the main local studies area.
