Motherwell Heritage Centre : School & Education Workshops

Motherwell Heritage Centre offers a range of museum workshops for schools that tie in closely with the 5 –14 environmental studies curriculum principally in the areas of "people in the past" and "people in society."
The content of each workshop includes a variety of object handling, design, drama, costume, and worksheets, as well as an opportunity to visit the relevant time period in Technopolis – our audio-visual display.

Please click on each current topic below to link to relevant information on content, sample worksheets and curriculum links.

Workshops are available Monday to Friday from 10.00am –12.00pm or 1.00pm – 2.45pm (times can be varied to suit circumstances). There is a charge of £15 per workshop (to be paid at the time of booking) and each workshop holds a maximum of 33 pupils.

Pupils will have the opportunity to visit the museums gift shop, temporary exhibition (where available) and (weather permitting) the top of the viewing tower. Please allow extra time for your visit if you intend taking advantage of these facilities.

In addition we frequently run workshops to compliment our temporary exhibition programme, which cover a variety of subjects and curriculum areas in addition to those listed above. These workshops are usually free of charge – please look out for information on our website and mailings to your school.
