North Lanarkshire Council's Draft Core Paths Plan - Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)

The Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005 places a duty on North Lanarkshire Council to carry out a Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Core Paths Plan.  This assessment is to ensure that any likely significant environmental effects of the plan are assessed during its preparation and also the actual effects after its adoption.

A consultation on the Environmental Report produced as part of the SEA process is being carried out in tandem with the consultation on the Draft Core Paths Plan.

The purpose of the Environmental Report is to:

  • Provide information on the Core Paths Plan;
  • Identify, describe and evaluate the likely significant effects of the strategy and its reasonable alternatives
  • Provide an early and effective opportunity for the Consultation Authorities and the public to offer views on any aspect of the Environmental Report.

The Environmental Report can be viewed by following the link in the download box on the right hand side of this page.
