Local Agenda 21 - Environment

Local Agenda 21 stems from the Rio Earth summit where 150 governments committed themselves for the first time to sustainable development.

The North Lanarkshire Local Agenda 21 Strategy is the partnership strategy for Sustainable Development. It is a strategy that is delivered through a range of processes, plans and programmes. It is complementary to the Community Plan and both documents are bound together through the Local Agenda 21 Monitoring Framework.
