Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation

Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINCs) are locally designated non-statutory sites with plants, animals, or wildlife habitats that are important to North Lanarkshire.  There are currently over 300 SINC sites in North Lanarkshire.

During 2008/2009 the Council is undertaking a review of its SINCs to resurvey the wildlife and ensure we are following national best practice and guidance.  Throughout this process we are trying to identify landowners of these areas.

If you are a landowner in the North Lanarkshire area we would be grateful if you would take the time to view the SINC maps using the download or request by post box on the right hand side of this page.

If you are the owner of a SINC site and would like further information on the designation, the site's wildlife, or advice on management please contact us.
