Habitat Working Groups - Aims.

The main aims of the Habitat Working Groups are:

  • To deliver the actions contained in the various species and habitat action plans for that broad habitat.
  • To report back on the progress of these plans annually for the purposes of local and national monitoring.
  • To review the existing plans every 4 or 5 years to ensure their continuing effectiveness.
  • To identify any new species or habitat action plans that are required and once approved by the core group to write the said plan.

The main responsibilities of the members of the working groups are.

  • To attend all the meetings of the working group (twice a year).
  • To bring information pertaining to the reporting of the annual work plan for each action plan (where applicable).

Awareness and Education Working Group

The Education and Awareness working group (already in existence) will receive updates from the other working group chairs at the core group meetings.  The number and timing of this groups' meetings will be left for the group to decide.  The only proviso for this is that they contribute to the collating of the monitoring at the same time as all the other working groups.

The habitat working groups will prioritise actions, stemming from the various action plans, for the Education and Awareness group to take forward and feed these suggestions to the chair of the E&A group at the core group meetings.
