Facilities

Muirhead is a unique community centre with a modern interior and up to date facilities that are adaptable for most lets.

The main hall provides a large spacious area for functions of a special nature as well as for regular visitors to the centre. With a large capacity intake the main hall can hold up to 140 for a dinner dance and 200 persons for a disco event. These figures include the dining extension to be found to the right of the hall, which can offer guests a chance to escape from main hall activities without feeling excluded from the overall event.

This venue is ideal for musical accompaniment or for the purpose of performances, as there is a stage set to the rear of the hall. There is also a small platform set to the side of the dining extension. The stage in the main hall was purposely built for performances and has the unique feature of being sloped so that all actors on the stage can be seen.

A separate bar area is available, although patrons are reminded that if alcohol is brought on to the premises then there will be an additional license fee. The bar is accessible directly from the back entrance of the main hall.

There is a lesser hall available for smaller lets that can seat up to 50 persons for small gatherings and community based events or classes.

Separate kitchen facilities are available to compliment both halls. The main hall has equipment suitable for catering and can be used for preparing and cooking meals, the lesser hall kitchen can be used for the purpose of heating through ready prepared food or for hot buffets. There is a fridge in the main kitchen if required.
